Music From Other Projects

Here are some samples of other music we have written,
and other projects we are working on.

Little Black Dress
This song was written as a BMI-Lehman Engel Workshop project for which we
were challenged to musicalize a scene from the movie Working Girl.

Tess is cleaning her hospitalized boss Katherine's apartment when she sees
an invitation to a gala, where top movers and shakers will be gathering. She explains
to her best friend Cynthia that swiping the invitation is her one chance to make her
best business ideas known to those who can advance her career. But she has nothing
appropriate to wear, until she peeks into Katherine's closet and spots
the perfect outfit.

Who Are You Tonight, Ann Leary?
From the musical April Witch,
based on a short story by Ray Bradbury

Cecy is a young girl with the mystical power to become one with whatever and
whomever she wishes, but what she wants more than anything else is to be in love.
She finds Tom in the midst of asking Ann Leary to a dance. Ann resists the invitation,
afraid of being hurt by Tom, but Cecy takes over, forcing her to go. Ann does not
understand what has caused her to change her mind.
Perhaps she is being influenced by a witch?

Nickels and Dimes
A song written in workshop for a project based on the book
From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler by E. L. Konigsburg

Twelve-year-old Claudia and her little brother Jamie, bored with the rut their
young lives are in, have run away from home to find adventure, and are living
in New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art. They find themselves
embroiled in an exciting mystery involving a possible long-lost work of art
by the master Michaelangelo. But just as things are getting exciting,
the backpack containing their money is stolen. With all of their hopes lost,
they sit by the great fountain in utter despair, ready to give up.
But luck comes their way with the toss of a coin.
